Education

As a player, it is so important to be prepared for what you are getting yourself into joining a new team, whether that be in a new league or a foreign country. It is not good enough to just have a contract in hand and a team to play on. You will be blindsided if you go into a situation that way. Being educated about the team you are joining will help in the initial transition phase. First impressions are very important for your success on a new team, so being ready to transition easily to a new situation can make all the difference between you having a rocky or smooth start to a season. Before you arrive to your team, I will make sure you learn about the city you are playing in, the teammates and coaches you will be around everyday, your living situation, transportation, food, cost of living, etc.

Placement

Throughout my career, I have gained thousands of contacts around the world in the hockey community to help find opportunities for players to continue playing the game they love. I have strong relationships with clubs in the NHL, AHL, ECHL, NCAA, USHL, CHL, NAHL, as well as overseas in leagues such as the KHL, NLA, DEL, Liiga, SHL, Czech Extraliga, Get-Ligaen, Metal Ligaen, EBEL, DEL2, EIHL, Ligue Magnus, Erste Liga, Asia HL, & Alps HL, among others.

Negotiation

You may have an opportunity to play on a team, but what are the terms of the deal? Acting as my own agent in Finland, I negotiated the highest deal my team ever gave to an import player. Unfortunately, not every team always sticks to the contract terms, and you will need a policeman of sorts to hold them accountable. Negotiation goes beyond just the player’s salary, bonuses, and incentives but also includes factoring in life outside of the ice rink. My end goal is to negotiate a contract that is clearly understandable and appropriate between the team and player.

Marketing

If you want to keep your playing career alive, it helps having the ability to show others your value and who you are as a player and a person. My personal writing skills, articles I wrote online, and highlight tapes I made helped me immensely market myself and led to further career opportunities. I can provide expertise in these areas to help players market themselves and improve their stock as an overall hockey player and person.

Finance and Taxes

We assist you with financial and tax advice and preparation of tax returns. Our services include: preparation of all federal, state and local tax returns by our own tax and accounting firm; using a tax and financial planner so that you can anticipate financial benefits and tax consequences of each investment; advising you and the club during the year of the proper amount to be withheld from each check so that you do not have to make a significant payment at tax time.
