Ryan Minkoff
Early Career

Ryan Minkoff played for Benilde-St. Margaret’s in the Minnesota State High School League for two seasons under head coach Ken Pauly. During his senior season, he played for the Minnesota Wildcats in the Minnesota Junior Hockey League. With the Wildcats, he finished second on the team in points and was selected to the league all-star team.

College Career

Ryan Minkoff went on to play in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) at the University of Washington in Seattle from 2011-2015, where he graduated with a BA in Economics and Entrepreneurship. During his career, he set every single season and career scoring record at the University, amassing 149 goals and 224 assists for 373 total points in four seasons. He led the Washington Huskies and Pacific 8 Intercollegiate Hockey Conference in points in each season and led the nation in scoring his junior year. Ryan finished his career 4th all-time in the ACHA in total points, 4th all-time in goals, 3rd all-time in assists and 2nd all-time in points per game. The Huskies won their second PAC-8 Conference title and advanced to the West Regional for the first time in school history during his freshman season.

Professional Career

After graduating from the University of Washington, he signed a one-year contract with Lapuan Virkia, making him the first player from the University of Washington to play professional ice hockey in Europe. He finished the season tied for third on the team in total points.

Writing

Ryan Minkoff has been published twice on Derek Jeter’s The Players Tribune, writing articles about his college and professional hockey experiences. His first article “The Club” was published on September 23, 2015, while his second article “Overseas and Alone” was published on May 20th, 2016. He also has published articles by the ACHA, Let’s Play Hockey, State Of Hockey.com and Front Office Sports in addition to being featured on the Fit Across Cultures podcast by Susan Salzbrenner in Copenhagen, Denmark.

* Signed a three year contract with the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins, playing six years professionally in the NHL, AHL, ECHL, and Overseas

* Played three seasons in the CHL with the Seattle Thunderbirds, where he went on to be the WHL Western Conference rookie of the year and league All-Star
* Signed in the ECHL and went on to play for Dinamo Riga in the KHL for four seasons
